This glossary can be useful not only to improve the understanding of technical terminology but also for personnel (of any sector, from simple “handymen” to engineers) and for all those who would like to describe visible signs of handwork with the aim of a correct methodological approach to work.

Many terms have been taken from the “glossary for description of macroscopic crushed stone alterations” (called NORMAL 1/80) and are currently being updated, as well as some UNI-ES sector norms.
