Is it possible to renovate a wooden bench? Of course it is!
There are situations where the job is easy and others where it is a bit more complex. Let us look together at the specific case of the restoration of some benches in the Porto Antico of Genoa.
In August 2020, the Genoa Aquarium celebrated the inauguration of the new San Giorgio bridge with many initiatives, including a project sponsored by Unicredit for a new outdoor comfort area.
The overall aim of the project, realised in collaboration with the Arneis communication agency, was to provide a shaded cover for visitors waiting to enter Europe's largest aquarium; along with this, the restoration of some of the seats located in the surrounding area was also promoted.

Sustainability is one of the important concepts on which Unicredit builds its foundations, which is why the banking group has entered into a lasting partnership with one of Genoa's greatest symbols.
Sustainability also plays a starring role in the restoration of the benches, which was carried out by X-LAM London. No seats were disassembled and moved. The work was carried out on site by professionals, who brought the wood back to life in just a few days.

The impregnating products used are non-toxic and easy to use. Each coat was applied when the surface was completely dry.
